Did You Know: Food Can Have More Than One Life?
29/09/2026
From farm to fork, around one-third of the world’s food production is lost or wasted. Thousands of tonnes of food are thrown away simply because they look “old”, even though they are still perfectly safe to eat.
A brown, overripe banana can become:
- a smoothie
- banana bread
- pancakes
- banana ice cream made with just a blender
The banana isn’t spoiled. It can have a second chance.
On the occasion of Food Waste Action Week, let’s take a few minutes to find an idea, a recipe or a way to make use of food that may seem ready for the bin. The hard part isn’t finding a solution; it’s remembering that food has value and deciding that it deserves a second chance. And many times, all it takes to save it is simply caring a little more.
After all, an overripe banana can become a delicious cake, stale bread can turn into tasty croutons, and that forgotten yogurt might actually prefer becoming tzatziki rather than ending up in the bin.
Small habits, big difference. 💚
Local authenticity is a tribute to Greek tradition, to food, to the flavors born in our land — flavors that deserve to stay alive.
Every coffee has a story to tell. Usually, however, we believe that the story ends with the last sip.
